A client concept pitch for a casino and a boutique hotel on in Sydney, Australia.
- CASINO & BOUTIQUE HOTEL
In Association with Woods Bagot, Sydney, 2009 - These images are from a pitch presentation for the redevelopment of a Casino and Boutique Hotel in Sydney's CBD. Working with Woods Bagot Architects, we presented some schematics for the arrival and the boutique hotel alongside the Casino itself. The design of the arrival experience uses in-situ cast terazzo to create a seamless pathway into the establishment and up to the various levels. The intention was that this 'white pathway', with it's integrated stairs, barriers and partitions would also act as a sort of way finding element throughout the remainder of the spaces. Situated above the entrance are a series of lights arranged in a seemingly molecular pattern. These lights then form the base design for a pendant at the very heart of the stairwell. Finally we presented a concept for a small room within the boutique hotel. The room continues the theme of integrated partitioning and stowage initially started with the pathway and uses a flexible space divider to return space that would otherwise be lost to wet areas. The space features several bespoke designs for lighting and facilities.
